Presenter Bios

Lauren Maples is the owner of Green Life Eco-Consulting.  As a consultant she works with businesses and individuals to reduce their ecological footprint.  Additionally, she is a member of Austin ISD’s Environmental Stewardship Envisioning Committee and serves on its Resources and Outreach Subcommittee.  Lauren is the founder and head of the Green School Initiative at Cunningham Elementary, and is a founding member of Austin 350, a coalition of Austin individuals and groups willing to sign on to reduce carbon emissions and educate others to do the same.

Katie Sternberg of Green Edge Consulting helps businesses, schools, and individuals implement environmental actions and is working with a network of organizations to develop two local sustainability initiatives.  Katie serves on the leadership team of Net Impact, helping community organizations with social and environmental programming; is a Committee Chair for Uplift Austin, training high school students to implement green building and landscape designs at their school; is an Advisory Team member of the City of Austin Green Events stakeholder group; and is a member of the Austin Social Enterprise Council and Texas Green Network.
